One of the objectives of Engage is to increase the monitoring capacity of policy makers on the development of Game-based learning (GBL) in Europe and on the promotion of quality approaches to education and learning supporting the motivation to learn thus also the pleasure of learning. To do this, we need the involvement of the Game Development Industry. The success of this will largely depend on interaction between practitioners, their students, and education policy makers.
This section of the Engage Portal fosters this interaction with the following topics:
Ideas Market: This is a hub to promote game ideas with educational value and bringing together game designers, game producer and stakeholders (parents, schools, teachers). Teachers can specify their needs and an idea for a game in the classroom and look for young companies to implement the idea.
Mentoring by Game Developers: The principle of mentoring and guidance from more experienced game designers and game companies to young designers will be applied, thus also nourishing entrepreneurship and better competition in the area of producing educational games.
Start-up Incubator: The objective is to provide the designers and the companies with opportunities to make fruitful contacts and develop their work together, from the stage of game idea to the final product.
